for Chinese Mayors at the Forefront of Global Climate Action
C40 works to support Chinese city climate action plans and implementation. As China’s climate paradigm shifted from central government policy change to sub-national implementation, the role of Chinese cities and mayors in ensuring substantial emissions reduction has become increasingly significant. This project will help strengthen city mayors’ political will through a better understanding and demonstration of a new growth model that’s built upon low-carbon policy, designs, and investments. It will also scale up Chinese city climate actions through C40’s network of Chinese and international mayors and their learnings, exchanges, and cooperation. (Substrategy: China National Policy)
