Nathan Jae-Sun Large

Nathan Jae-Sun Large is a Program Associate in the Performing Arts Program at the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation. He facilitates the program’s goals as a central coordinator and works closely with the program officers to manage roughly 60 percent of the philanthropic portfolio.

Previously, Nathan was grants coordinator for The Shubert Foundation, working on a team of five to allocate and distribute approximately 575 performing arts grants each year. Throughout his tenure, he played an integral role in the administration of over $100 million in philanthropic contributions to organizations across the US. He also served on the Shubert Organization’s Education and Training Subcommittee for Institutional Advancement, creating arts administration career pipelines for underserved communities in NYC and beyond.

Nathan holds a Master of Arts in performance studies from New York University Tisch School of the Arts, which he earned through the aid of a departmental fellowship. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in theater and performance studies from Stanford University, where he held the Hume Honors Fellowship at the Stanford Humanities Center. Nathan’s folding bicycle is his constant companion, and he can often be seen with a basket full of ingredients to cook Korean dishes.
